First aid courses at your place

Business Owners know they need to satisfy their workplace health and safety obligations. Your staff may need to be trained in a CPR and first aid.

Our group CPR first aid training is an ideal way to manage this.

We can hold this group training at your premises. This is less disruptive for the individuals who need first aid training and makes it easier for your administration to organise.

Importantly, it means the course itself can be tailored to directly address the health and safety concerns specific to your workplace.

Please don’t hesitate to call us if you need further advice.

Training at Australia Wide First Aid

Our mission is to make it easier for all Australians to access life-saving first aid skills. We will not only match prices offered by other providers — St John First Aid, First Aid Pro, CPR First Aid and First Aid Courses Melbourne, and more — we will beat their best prices by 10%.

We’ve been delivering first aid training of the highest standard since 1996 — providing courses for new first aiders, as well as first aid refresher courses for health professionals looking to renew their  certification.

I recently participated in a first aid and cpr course with this company. The email communication was very clear and... concise. I knew what I had to do, and what was expected of me. Shout out to Roger, who was very friendly and engaging, making the theory aspects of the course surprisingly informative and enjoyable. He did everything he could to ensure we were able to successfully complete the required assessments. He had a great sense of humour! For what most people have previously experienced or have preconceived ideas around what a half day first aid training would look like, this is NOT that! For sure, I'll be back to renew with you guys! Great value for money!read more

I booked with this company again for a refresher course as I had a great experience 3 years ago and thought that would... be the standard that AWFA provides. Not so this time. The value in going to a face to face session is focussing on practical skills and knowledge. I acknowledge that Covid restrictions may have changed how content is delivered, but to spend 3hours 45 min listening to anecdotes and about 15 min total in hands on wasnt what I paid for. I would be really angry if I had paid for this course as a first timer, instead of a refresher, as the basic first aid for asthma, allergy, wound care was glossed over in 2mins, with the assumption we all knew it anyway. If you pay and turn up for a course, then it is the trainers job to respect that and deliver the relevant information that was the intent of the course.read more

What a poor customer experience.I had selected this first aid provider because they runs courses that suits my busy... schedule.Today I went to refresh my CPR. Upon arrival I was embarrassingly turned away for not completing the pre course work. I had not received any emails from the organisation before my booked class and was therefore unable to do this. I was then directed to call the customer service line and told the operator on the other line my circumstances.I was offered a rebooking for the next day however due to my work schedule I would not be able to accept. I tried explaining this to the customer service operator. The operator then affirmed the providers inflexibility to individuals on a case by case circumstances. I asked about refund options again the operator refused this request and stated that I would need to rebook.I found this whole process humiliating and am disappointed by Australia Wide First Aid’s lack of empathy and inflexibility. I would not recommend this RTO to anyone.read more

I have completed first aid 3 times in the last 10 years and CPR 8 times in that period...This is by far the most... outrageous fail of a course. Second page of the question's are related to maths and spelling? How this is relevant in saving lives at a First Aid or CPR level is beyond me. You need 100% to pass... I have to say very poorly run institution. My experience with the teachers was good but their customer service and... admin services are a shambles. I was originally booked in for an Express First Aid course and it was cancelled on the morning of the course with no replacement teacher. This was annoying as the Express courses are only run once per month. I tried to book in multiple times and they said I could not. Finally I organised a full day course as you can only do the express within 12 months of the last but when I showed up I was not on the list and the teacher said he could not let me in the class. I showed him the email from Australia Wide First Aid which said that I was booked but the message had not been transferred to the teacher. The teacher was helpful and tried to call his director but there was no answer so I could not do the class even though I had paid for it. I am wondering g if anyone is actually going to follow up on this now or am I just another number. After initially being happy with the quality of their courses I now have to choose a different provider as I cannot rely on this company’s administration. I demand a refund also as that is 3 times I have not been able to do your course. Please improve the communication systems.read more

The following overviews will help you choose your first aid short course.

Whether you’re looking for courses, such as “surf lifesaving first aid course”, “lifesavers first aid”, “senior first aid courses”, etc., our short courses are for people who need first aid certification on the job, as well as for those who want first aid skills in order to help those in need.

The course codes below link to the official government training descriptions. Please note that first aid course codes are being revised. The following course codes are affected:

HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation is being superseded by HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

HLTAID003 Provide first aid is being superseded by HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.

HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting is being superseded by HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting.

More in-depth information can be found on our Courses page.

First Aid Course Pros and Cons

It takes only a short time to gain game-changing life-saving skills with the HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation course.

This CPR training is included in HLTAID003 Provide first aid and HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting. But these 2 courses go deeper, teaching you how to respond effectively to almost any medical emergency.

With this increased scope, there is of course more e-Learning involved, plus a half-day of face-to-face training.

Both of these 2 courses are ideal for career advancement, with HLTAID004 Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting your best choice if you plan to work in the childcare or education sectors.

Admission Requirements

You must be at least 14 years of age to attend an Australia Wide First Aid course.

If you have a disability that could negatively affect your training and assessment, it is likely you would be awarded a Statement of Attendance rather than a Statement of Attainment. Please contact us beforehand.

First Aid Course Tips

  • Download your First Aid eBook. Read the relevant pages as explained in your Welcome email.
  • Refer to the eBook while you answer questions in your e-Learning. Take as many attempts as you need to arrive at correct answers. Submit your finished e-Learning by 11.59pm the day before your face-to-face training.
  • Assessment requires you to perform uninterrupted CPR on a manikin on the floor for 2 minutes. Bring a cushion or towel if you wish to make it easier for your knees.
  • Get your USI (Unique Student Identifier) — free at the official government website. This is a certification requirement.
