We started delivering our first aid courses in 1996 and have been fine-tuning our training methods ever since. It’s a method that has helped more than 1.1 million Australians get their first aid certificates.

Our online first aid course is basically an online questionnaire — mostly a multiple-choice quiz plus some True or False questions. Your First Aid eBook is free to download and free to refer to while completing this e-Learning.

You can get your certificate only once you’ve passed your face-to-face practical assessment. No surprises there. First aid is hands-on after all.

Admission to your face-to-face session hinges on you having submitted your e-Learning successfully by midnight the day before. Failure is not an option with your e-Learning. You get as many attempts as you need to pass with flying colours.

And, in the hands of our first aid trainers (the best in the business), you’ll find the face-to-face session thoroughly enjoyable. Your trainer will make sure you’re up to speed in no time. The process aims to get you certified without delay.

About our first aid courses

First aid refers to a set of first responses to a range of medical emergencies.

In Australia, these responses are catalogued by the National Register of Vocational and Education Training as units of competency. Qualification is by way of Statements of Attainment in these competencies.

At Australia Wide First Aid, we provide courses to cover these units of competency.

Our most popular course — HLTAID011 Provide First Aid — bundles together 3 valuable units of competency: HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation, HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support, and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid.

HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation focuses on the life-saving technique of CPR.

HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting is the course for people who work in the education and childcare sectors. With it focus on first aid for children and infants (but also including first aid for adults) this course is also popular among parents.

Why learning first aid is so important

First aid knowledge is invaluable in times of a medical emergency.

To understand the value of first aid training, you only need to imagine how you’d feel if someone close to you fell victim to a life-threatening accident, or collapsed from a stroke or a heart attack, and you were unable not help.

Being able to make a difference in such circumstances, is what first aid is all about. Nobody who’s done an accredited first aid course, would ever regret doing so.

First aid training will have a positive effect on you, as well as on your family and your colleagues. Knowing what to do in an emergency is reassuring for everyone.

A first aid certificate is also a boost for your career. Your chances of getting the job you’re after will improve because you’ve demonstrated your willingness to take responsibility. And prospective employers will see this.

First aid certification also adds Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points, which count toward career advancement in many industries.

Sunshine Coast community

The Sunshine Coast has something for everyone — from the golden beaches to the rustic beauty of the hinterland, to the boutique shops and cafés at Noosa, Maroochydore and Mooloolaba.

But accidents do happen… anywhere, anytime.

All too frequently, people get into bother in the surf and in the pool. Not just visitors. Locals too.

There are stingers — in the water and out. People fall victim to heat stroke. They fall off bikes and get into all sorts of scrapes.

Life-saving first aid is how you can help make the Sunshine Coast a safer place. And your first aid certificate is an ideal way to show your community spirit.
