Why learn first aid?

First aid is rendered to a sick or injured person with the aim of preserving life, preventing the patient’s condition from deteriorating, and promoting their recovery. It is used to address and reduce risks in the home or workplace.

CPR, or cardiopulmonary resuscitation, is a life-saving component of first aid, however first aid is also used to treat injuries, allergic reactions, and other immediate medical needs.

Many professions require staff with accredited first aid training certification, and many companies are required to have at least one currently certified first aider in their office or facility.
