Short Courses – Melbourne Training
Introduction
HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation puts essential life-saving skills within your reach in short time. This is easy to complete in one day.
HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting are more comprehensive first aid courses.
While you can complete either of these courses in one day, half a day would be spent in face-to-face training and assessment. Before doing that, your e-Learning would need to be completed. How long that takes you will come down to your own ability to get through some reading and a multiple-choice quiz.
Certification in these two courses is ideal for career advancement.
These courses include the previously mentioned HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation training, as well as essential first aid knowledge and skills, not the least of which are first aid for anaphylaxis, and management of asthma and many other medical emergencies.
Course Overviews
Provide CPR
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a life-saver for victims of cardiac arrest and oxygen deprivation.
This course should not to be confused with Level 1 First Aid (HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support), which is part of HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting.
Assessment for your certification will require you to demonstrate correct CPR technique for no less than two minutes, on a manikin placed on the floor. You may bring a towel or cushion for your knees.
Provide First Aid
Our most popular course, this training is a staple for workplace compliance. The Provide First Aid course includes both HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support (Level 1 First Aid).
Child Care First Aid
This is the course you want if you’re planning to work in the childcare or education sectors. The included first aid techniques and knowledge are focused on infants and children, not just on adults, making this training a compelling choice for parents.
