Available First Aid Courses in Sydney
The following First Aid courses are now available at our Dymocks Building training centre:
CPR is an emergency response technique that combines chest compressions and artificial ventilation. It can return the flow of oxygenated blood to major organs after a person’s breathing or heartbeat has stopped.
The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends this certification be renewed annually to stay abreast of changes and to keep skills fresh.
Our most popular course, the comprehensive scope of this training makes it particularly relevant to community and workplace settings.
In Provide First Aid, you learn CPR, use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator), management of airway obstruction, choking, and vomiting, as well as care for an unconscious breathing casualty.
You’ll also learn First Aid techniques, such as managing fractures, strains and sprains, treating bites and stings, the pressure immobilisation technique (PIT), and more.
The course also covers how to provide an appropriate emergency response for allergy and anaphylaxis, asthma and respiratory distress, control of bleeding, and shock management.
This Emergency First Aid course is a requirement if you intend to work in the childcare sector. It’s also of particular interest to parents of young children.
Covering the same units as Provide CPR and Provide First Aid, this course adds a focus on applying First Aid, including CPR techniques, to infants and children.
With a total face-to-face training duration of 5 hours, plus pre-course reading and online assessment, this course teaches how to provide First Aid for various types of injuries and manage medical conditions, as well as how to assess emergency situations.
Includes the following Units of Competency: Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID001), Provide Basic Emergency Life Support (HLTAID002), Provide First Aid (HLTAID003), and Provide an Emergency Response in an Education and Care Setting (HLTAID004).
