HLTAID001 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation – CPR is a lifesaving procedure combining chest compressions and breaths. It is used to prevent a casualty from dying or suffering permanent injury due to the brain and other major organs being deprived of oxygenated blood, in cases such as cardiac arrest and near drowning.
HLTAID003 – Provide First Aid – a unit of competency formerly known in Australia as Apply First Aid or Senior First Aid, this is comprehensive training to have you ready to provide appropriate First Aid response, life support, and casualty management in a range of settings. Aside from basic life support (DRSABCD), you’ll learn First Aid techniques, such as managing fractures, sprains, and strains, allergy and anaphylaxis management, control of envenomation and bleeding emergencies, and choking and airway obstruction response.
HLTAID004 – Child Care First Aid – is a First Aid unit of competency also known as Provide an Emergency Response in an Education and Care Setting. Specifically designed for teachers and carers, it’s also great for parents to acquire First Aid training that is child-focused.
What You’ll Learn in Your First Aid Course
With Australia Wide First Aid, you’ll learn what it takes to act quickly and decisively in an emergency situation in order to help an injured or ill person.
AED & CPR training
CPR — cardiopulmonary resuscitation — is a game changer when an injured person has stopped breathing. This is a core component of your First Aid training.
You’ll also learn how to use an automatic external defibrillator (AED) — the heart-starter that paramedics use to shock a person back to life. Timely use of an AED has saved countless lives.
Wound care involves learning correct bandaging techniques. You’ll learn how to manage cuts, sprains, burns and bites. You’ll also be shown recommended First Aid management for injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including to the neck, spine, or head.
Breathing & Choking
Checking the breathing of a casualty and clearing the airway, if called for, are essential First Aid techniques. You’ll learn these techniques, as well as what to do when a person — infant or adult — is choking. You’ll also learn how to provide appropriate First Aid to manage asthma or anaphylaxis.
You’ll be shown how to safely treat a person who has inhaled, ingested, or had a toxin injected.
Unexpected Medical Emergency
Emergencies happen in homes, workplaces, and while you’re out and about. But, after your First Aid course, you’ll be equipped to help.
Your First Aid training will enable you to think quickly and act confidently in response to fainting, epileptic seizures, strokes, heart attacks, and more. You’ll know the best steps to take to help avert disastrous outcomes.
Our First Aid courses teach you the correct emergency responses. They also alert you to what to look for, and how to stay safe yourself.
Australia Wide First Aid Delivers
Our First Aid training is COVID-safe. Hygiene and social distancing are maintained throughout.
We provide group First Aid, as well as one-on-one classes. These group classes can be held on-site at your premises, which means the First Aid training can be customised to the health and safety needs specific to your workplace.
Our industry-experienced, fully certified trainers are available in WA, QLD, NSW, and VIC. Our priority is to provide accessible First Aid training that is fully accredited.
First Aid Training Simplified
For streamlined certification, we blend online First Aid courses with a minimum of face-to-face training.
Choose the time and place for your practical First Aid assessment. Leading up to your scheduled face-to-face session, you simply complete the theory component — online and at your convenience.
Straight after you book your course, you’ll have access to your PDF First Aid manual. It’s full of great information. Depending on the course you selected, you might need to read only a portion of the manual to finish the e-Learning questionnaire.
Simply use the manual as a reference to help you answer True or False or to check off the correct multiple-choice answers. Take as many attempts as you need to arrive at the correct answers. So that your understanding of First Aid will also be correct, it pays to consider why a particular answer is the correct one.
e-Learning plus Face-toFace
You e-Learning assessment needs to be submitted before you can attend your face-to-face First Aid class. You have until 11:59pm the night before.
Start sooner rather than later. That way you won’t be stressing or rushing.
Shortly after you’ve completed your face-to-face First Aid training, your First Aid certificate will be emailed to you.
Yes, a same-day First Aid Certificate!
Your Australia Wide First Aid certificate will be recognised all over Australia, ready for career advancement, workplace compliance, as well as saving lives.
Your First Aid certification will need a refresher at some point. This serves to freshen your memory and so you stay up to date with First Aid training advancements.
HLTAID001 CPR, for example, needs to be renewed annually. HLTAID003 Provide First Aid certificate is valid for 3 years, although the CPR component needs updating annually.
